Congratulations to RC and Joyce Martin. They are the recipients of the 2007-2008 PTSA Trailblazer Award! The Fremont PTSA presents the Trailblazer Award to honor Fremont High School families who go above and beyond the call of duty in their service to FHS. The Martins have served many years with the Athletic Boosters, even after their children had graduated. If you have enjoyed delicious hot dogs and hamburgers at back-to-school night or at the football games, you have been served by the Martins. To thank this great family and show our appreciation, the Fremont High School PTSA is making a donation in their name of $100 to the school library. Thanks RC & Joyce! (M. Kurtz)

Are you an incoming sophomore, junior, or senior?  Do you have a passion for helping others? Do you want to be recognized for your academic excellence? Do you want to be a part of the National PTA recognized Excellence in Education Partnership Program? If you answered yes to all of these questions, you may be interested in joining NHS! NHS stands for National Honor Society which is a national organization that recognizes and honors students who serve the community and excel in academics. NHS's main service project is the Students For Success Club, an after-school peer tutoring program.  NHS membership represents prestige and honor and is perceived favorably by the college admission.  Application process will begin in September.  For more information, please check out the NHS Website www.geocities.com/cabinet_fhsnhs. (J. Darwish)

Bus passes: Attention students, our district does not provide bus passes to students for the months of June, July, and August.  VTA does offer a Summer Blast Pass that students may purchase on their own for June, July, and August.  The cost for the Summer Blast Pass is $75, which is a $45 savings over purchasing individual monthly passes.   Please visit the VTA website for more information. (D.
