Students of the Month:

Gregory Marciano, 9

Greg has shown a great deal of interest and aptitude in algebra since semester 2 started.  He has seen how hard work pays off.  Also, asking questions and being involved in class has helped him learn some difficult math like solving systems of linear equations.  He has been integral in helping out his fellow classmates.  I’m proud of his achievements.  (Maria Blasko – Math)

Jamal Pugh

Jamal is a consistently excellent student in the Geometry classroom.  What sets Jamal apart is his willingness and eagerness to share his ideas and ass questions.  Additionally, as a group member, he can be counted on to patiently help any student with the content.  Basically, he rocks.  (David Heinke and Adrienne Philippe – Math)

Powder Puff Football!

The sophomore and senior girls were victorious at the annual Powder Puff Football game held in March.  The girls played under the stadium lights of Diesner Field.  All the outward signs of a football game were apparent – football plays, runs, scores, and the gatorade drench.

Both teams were expertly coached by FHS staff members.  The “voice” from the press box added much anticipation and the running clock added emergency to the game.

The desire to win fill the air with excitement!
