Our teaching staff is a particular strength at Fremont High School. Their level of dedication, skill, and investment in our students is impressive and goes well beyond what would normally be expected. FHS's partnership with the Stanford Teacher Education Program yields many benefits to both campuses and many of the Stanford student teachers elect to stay at Fremont after their FHS student teaching is completed. In fact, Fremont is often the school most requested by newly hired teachers in the Fremont Union High School District.
“My student teaching placement, via the STEP program at Stanford, was at Fremont HS during the ‘07-’08 year. I knew within a few weeks that I wanted to stay here. I had a fantastic working relationship with my co-operating teacher, I was immediately embraced by the math dept., and the students represented the real kind of diversity that makes for an exciting educational experience for the students and teachers. There is a positive energy that I haven’t experienced at other schools, and as much as it is an oxymoron, I feel ‘at home’ when I’m at work.”
David Heinke, FHS Math Teacher
“A quality high school experience includes more than general ed classes. My sister and I benefited from phenomenal teachers in journalism, theater, and music, not to mention excellent sports coaches. Thank you to all of them! Now that I’m in law school, I appreciate being well-rounded more than ever.”
Aysha Pamukcu, FHS Class of 2003, Stanford University undergrad,
University of Southern California Law School
“Teachers do more than just present information for students to learn ‘for a good grade.’ They manage to inspire kids and teach them how to think analytically. Most are available before and after classes. The teachers insist that the students work. Really.”
Lisa Bonetti, parent of FHS Alumni
“FHS teachers have been very engaged and encouraging and I have been impressed with their credentials, skills, and passion for their work.”
Bob Loftis, parent of member of the FHS Class of 2012
“I met all of my son’s teachers at Back-to-School-Night and they were ALL energetic and sincerely focused on the kids’ success. They are positive, approachable, and respond quickly to email.”
Terry Chavez, parent of member of the FHS Class of 2013
