Community Event Assistant

Community Event Assistant

Cupertino Middle School PTA is looking for enthusiastic high school students who love kids and  are willing to assist elementary and middle school kids with homework as well as watch toddlers. For safety reasons, this position requires two students at a time for any given PTA meeting.

Our goal is to encourage more parents to attend PTA meetings. Parents often cite that their kids need to do homework and that they have little ones that would not allow them to fully participate in decisions, ideas, etc.

Our first meeting is Thursday, Sept. 23.

After that, it’s third Thursdays unless otherwise notified. Ideally you would arrive at 6:25 p.m. and work until the meeting ends, usually by 8:15 p.m., give or take 5 or 10 minutes.

Contact the PTA president, Emiliana Martín at Reina.Borinquena@gmail.com or call (408) 245-6911. If you get voicemail, state what times and at what phone number I can reach you so we can avoid phone tag.

Learning for Life - Explorers Program

Learning for Life and Exploring

Learning for Life programs support schools and other youth-serving groups in their efforts to prepare youth to successfully handle the complexities of today’s society. The programs help build self-confidence, motivation and feelings of self-worth.

Exploring – Learning for Life brings school-based learning and work-based learning together for 14-20 year olds in an education program called Exploring. Exploring offers hands-on experience in a career field of their choice working with professionals, thus gaining experiences to help them grow.

High School Program - The High School Program continues Learning for Life’s school to career emphasis with workshops that teach the practical skills necessary for youth to acquire a job and stay employed.

Post Specialties: Law Enforcement, Medical and Health Careers, Fire/Emergency Services, Engineering, Communications, Skilled Trades, Social Services, Arts and Humanities, Aviation, Business, Law and Government.
