Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Tennis team for their WIN over Mountain View on Tuesday.  Today after school is their last league match this season versus Milpitas.  Wish them luck.  Go Firebirds!

Congratulations to seniors Iliana Castaneda, Matthew Greene and Ashayla Harrison for their acceptance into the 4th Annual County Wide Juried Exhibition,  Bridges, at the Museums of Los Gatos. Their work was selected from over 800 entries county wide and 68 pieces were juried in by three local University professors.  Matthew Greene received first place in Painting, and Ashayla Harrison received first place in Sculpture. The exhibit at the Los Gatos Museum runs through May 10th.

Fremont High FBLA attended the State Leadership Conference in the Santa Clara Convention Center from April 9 to April 12. Sofia Revina placed 9th in Business Presentation, Abhinav Kotra placed 9th in Business Law, and Frank Wang placed 6th in Business Calculations and 4th in Business Math. Frank has qualified for the national competition in Chicago!

The Fremont Track team competed against over 40 other high schools at the Quicksilver Classic April 4th.
The Firebirds took home their share of medals, 35 in total: 13 by the FS & varsity boys and 22 by the FS and varsity girls.
The FS boys finished 9th in the meet, while a couple of their key contributors were nursing injuries.

The VG's actually won the meet: The girls scored 75 points: 27 points higher than the 2nd best team, and more points than any team in the other 3 divisions.
The girls-track-meet Gangster Squad of Sabina Dayal, JJ Escalera, Annah Jones and MacKenzie Cox continued to own major meet points. Among the 4 of them; they won the 100M, 800M, Long Jump, 1600M, 800M, Triple Jump, 4X400M Relay,  were 2nd in the 100m Hurdles and 3rd and 4th in the High Jump.
The 4 girls scored more points than any one high school in any division of the whole meet.

Fremont hosted the Chevron Design Challenge, which is the culminating competition for the Project Lead The Way, Introduction to Engineering Design (IED) course.  There were 15 teams from the South Bay and East Bay competing today.  The best of the best from each school.  Congratulations to Anreeta Saseetherran, Jacqueline Otala, and Collin Howard – who rocked the house and earned first place in the South Bay/East Bay regional.  Next stop, California State Championships in 3 weeks!

Congratulations to the Fremont Concert Band and Wind Ensemble for both receiving a Unanimous Superior Rating at the Wilcox CMEA Festival on April 10. All 4 judges scored both groups with a score of 90 or higher and this is the top rating a group can receive at festival. Additionally, the Orchestra and Symphonic Band were rated as Excellent, with both groups scoring in the high 80s.  The 180 plus students of the Fremont Bands and Orchestra represented Fremont at an extremely high achievement level. Congratulations!
