Attention all football players: Spring football practice begins today, Monday, May 12th. All interested athletes should meet on the football field at 3:30 PM. Bring football shoes and a ball cap if desired. Football shoes can be borrowed from coach DeMonner if needed. (R. Demonner)

Attention French Club members and fans of the French Club: Remember the fun and fabulous crepe party and school-wide egg hunt?  How about the free trip to the Opera in San Jose?  Are you interested in planning these and other stellar French Club events for next year?  If so, then you should consider becoming a French Club Officer.  Officer descriptions are available in room 20 and you must submit a letter of interest to Ms. Silimperi no later than Friday, May 16.  See Ms. Silimperi for more info.

Attention students: Friday, May 16 is the last day to pre-order a yearbook/ASB Card. After that date yearbook prices will increase and they won't be available to purchase until the yearbook signing party on May 30. (C. Stockhaus)

The advanced placement exams will take place May 5-May 16. Students should make sure that they bring their student pack, student identification, and exam receipt to the testing session. No electronic devices, food, or beverages will be allowed in the testing room. Students should report on time for testing at 7:15 AM for the morning session and at 12:00 PM for the afternoon session. May is the Student Appreciation Month at Students For Success Club!  Thank you, NHS tutors, for your dedication!  Thank you, students, for trying your hardest to improve your grades!  In addition to our monthly attendance drawing of $20, we will hold random prize drawings every week!  You must be present to win!  Please stop by the Club after school, rewards are waiting for you! The Senior Ball is coming soon (May 16)! Order your lovely corsages or boutonnieres for your special date at the Student Store. Only $10 for corsages and $5 for boutonnieres. Available in red, white, and pink. (A. Cardosi)

Color Guard auditions will be held May 19 through May 22 from 6-8 PM in the large gym: The Color Guard is the dance and flag section of your award winning Firebird Marching Band. No dance experience is necessary but a good attitude is. If you want to work hard and enjoy doing it, then come be a part of the marching band. Please wear dance clothing, sweats, or shorts to the auditions. For more information, see Mr. Kelly in the music building.

There are many open board positions on the Athletic Boosters board. Elections will be held in May. Anyone interested should contact Annette Cardosi at 408-202-2578 for more information. Currently only two board members are willing to return next year. Unless a board is elected, there may not be any Athletic Boosters next year. CAREER CENTER:

Saint Mary's is hosting 'Spring at Saint Mary's' on May 17th: The event is designed for juniors and their families to tour the campus, learn about admissions and financial aid, and meet staff throughout academic departments. The program is from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM and includes a BBQ lunch. For more information see Ms. Madruga or visit www.stmary's-ca.edu

Do you know what you're going to do after high school or what you're going to major in? The ASVAB test can help you decide by testing your skills and linking them to a field. It will be administered at Fremont for sophomores, juniors, and seniors on May 23rd at 1:30 PM. See Ms. Madruga for details and to sign up!

SENIORS :

Seniors attending De Anza in the fall should attend the new student and parent college night at De Anza on Wednesday, May 14th from 6:30-8:00 PM. You will be able to register for Counseling 101 and get early fall registration. School departments will also be available to speak with. See Ms. Madruga with questions. (C. Madruga)

Attention seniors: Grad Night bids are on sale daily at the student store during lunch.

All seniors who have been awarded scholarships, or awards need to take their award letters to the career center so that you can be recognized at the Senior Awards night. (C. Madruga)

Substitute positions are on-call basis, Human Resources processes applications on Tuesday afternoons from
